The Halekulani’s iconic kiawe tree has sadly fallen down by nature on this past Sunday.  The tree was standing solo by the hotel’s signature restaurant, House Without A Key.  In the early evenings, there is live Hawaiian music and hula performances under the tree.  The tree framed the stage perfectly, with the scenic shore of Waikiki serving as the backdrop.  It’s still the perfect entertainment venue for my out-of-state guests, but the tree will be sorely missed.

This photo (sunset and the tree) was taken a few days before the tree collapsed.
