Oahu Neighborhoods

Known as “The Gathering Place,” Oahu is the third largest Hawaiian island, and home to nearly 80% of the state’s population. Oahu consists of two mountain ranges, the Koolau Range that extends along the island’s eastern coast, and the Waianae Range that runs along the western coast. World famous Diamond Head crater is at the southern tip of the Koolau Range.

The Honolulu International Airport, and Pearl Harbor, one of the largest natural harbors in the Pacific are on the southern coastline.

Oahu’s neighborhoods are wide and varied. Based on the Ahupua’a land division established in the Kingdom of Hawaii, neighborhoods were a “slice” of the island that usually extended from the mountain to the sea.
